Intermission Chat

If "all the world's a stage" then sometimes we need an INTERMISSION. We need a time to stop, to reflect upon the script, to evaluate our part in the play, to consider the bigger picture, to reconnect with the Author and with the other players. This is the essence of our Tuesday night gathering. This blog is a virtual extension of our ongoing spiritual conversation. Everyone is invited to bring something to the table – a word, a song, an expression, or just silence.

Come & See...

....indeed. This morning I was checking out a blog entry by an artist friend/mentor. I found his meditations on under-standing Jesus and under-standing art, specifically Da Vinci's "Last Supper", to really enrich the ponderings on communion that have continued to reverberate in my head since our conversation more than two weeks. "Taste and see," and "Come and see." The grace of God, by and through the risen Christ, is experiencial, it is sense-ational. Sensing, knowing, under-standing (as in standing under) IS grace - WE PARTAKE. Click on "Come & See" - the link will take you to Mako's blog entry. It is lengthy, but I have no doubt you will be blessed by breaking bread with him, in Christ.

"Alleluia. Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us;
Therefore let us keep the feast. Alleluia."
(From the Rite One of the Holy Eucharist in the Book of Common Prayer.)

Unexpected Grace & Farewell to a Friend

"On the Third Day [Jesus] rose again from the dead."

And thus begins our September reflection...

We begin with a story of God's unexpected grace -how God used Jessica in the wake of tremendous tragedy. Our God who brings life from death, creativity from chaos, beauty from ashes... Come and listen to what He has done.

And bid our friend Scott a fond (and temporary) farewell as he heads off to Colby-Sawyer College.

See you all Tuesday!
